Thirty-eight centimetres end to end, with a shallow well and a broad rim. Big enough for a whole bird, a fish, or biryani for the table, and shaped so the rim stays clean enough to carry with two hands.
Reactive glaze
The glaze breaks lighter over the raised edges and pools darker in the well, so no two platters are quite the same. It is fired to stoneware temperature, so the body is vitrified — it does not absorb oil or odour the way earthenware does.
Oven to table
Safe to 220 °C, so you can finish something under heat and bring the same dish out. Avoid moving it straight from a hot oven onto a cold stone counter.

Will my platter look exactly like the photograph?
Close, but not identical. A reactive glaze pools and breaks differently on every piece, so colour depth and edge tone vary. That variation is the finish working as intended.
Can it go in the oven?
Yes, to 220 °C. Let it come up with the oven rather than putting it into an already-hot one, and never set it down hot on a cold wet surface.
Is the glaze food safe?
Yes — it is lead free and fired to full vitrification.
